Local only problem vista
Whenever I connect to wlan of my college I always get limited connectivity and thus leading to a local only mode. And I have asked in department they are not blocking any machines from internet. What could be the problem?

Sounds to me like the signal is not strong enough. I would like to know how far you are from the college and have you had this problem before or is it something that just started.

Signal is sound and is very strong and we have a router in our hostel just near our building. It gets connected very easily but shows limited connectivity and shows local access.

The DHCP of the router is not enabled. So ask your college administrator to enable it or they have blocked certain computers from accessing internet.

This has happened to me when the router has not been configured correctly or whatever device your college is using.Have a discussion with your school technician who should be able to help this also may be due to the fact your too far away from the college grounds.
