Future of landlines
The monthly costs for voip phones and even long distance calls is much cheaper than what we pay to phone companies for landline phones.I'd think that many don't use it that often for making calls within the country.Does that mean everyone will have two phone lines in future ? A landline and a voip phone.Or will the landlines die a slow death as more people opt for VOIP phones ?

Depends how you define a landline and VOIP. BT are in the process of upgrading their systems to carry phone traffic as VOIP ok the local loop still wont be much difference.

You also on the whole still need a landline to carry the internet connection to allow you to VOIP in the first place.

So I dont think the landline is going anywhere soon

If more people opt for VOIP phones there will be a fall in the land line and mobile call rates. So I think in future landline and mobile phone calls will be very cheaper.

I think most people like the standard landlines, alot of people don't like messing around on the computer making online telephones as they feel its alot of hassle.Sorry its just you hear so much going wrong with computers and features for them.Best to wait until others have tested out these products first.
