How to choose a VoIP provider?
I would like to subscribe to the best VoIP provider in UK as well as choose the cheapest package that will suit my needs.

Mostly I make local and national calls and I do not make so many international calls. My international calls are confined to two or three international destinations.

I will appreciate if someone helps me to make the right choice. Are there VoIP packages with special offers?

BT broadband offers BT Broadband Talk which you can consider if you think it suits your needs.

You can choose any one of their two call plans. The call rates for calls within UK as well as international destinations are quite reasonable. They say, you can make calls to 56 countries from just 1.25p a minute.

BT offers its VoIP services through its BT Homehub wireless router using dedicated VoIP network. So, their services are highly reliable.

You can either choose softphone or some hardware-based phone if you decide to sign up for this package. If your budget permits, you can also think about taking their videophone service.

For mobile users, BT has launched BT Fusion, which allows the mobiles to be linked to GSM network and you can make calls even when you are away from home or office.

The call rates vary depending on how you access VoIP network. If you get connected to Homehub router via Wi-fi mode, you just pay one-fourths of normal call rate.

Skype is an excellent VOIP service you can use on your computer. There pricing is always cheap so there is no need to look out for a special deal. This service can be used by talking into a microphone or buying a skype phone.

There is also a problem. Some Voice over Internet Protocol services would offer great features that are not available with the normal phone. But the problem we might face here is that the service provider may not offer backup power in case you need them.
