Using Skype to Slash your phone bills
I was spending hundreds of pounds a month on international phone calls. Now that I have skype, it is cutting down the cost of the most of my international calls. The sound quality is superb and the connectivity is a lot better nowadays compared to the early days of Skype.

There are ways to get around the inconvenience of having to be connected to the internet or your computer to speak to people.

1. Get a skype phone. There are various types of phones - some connect to your computer and you can talk without a mic or speaker. For some other phones, you do not need to have your computer on. These phones stand alone and can be constantly connected to your broadband.

2. If you make a lot of calls to people abroad, get a UK skype number for about £14 per year. This can work in many ways. You can just call that number using your free minutes on your mobile or free cals from your BT phone. If someone is logged in to the other end, regardless of whichever country they are in, you only pay for a local call!

Skype is very useful - I don't use it as often as you do, but it's still handy to have for when I'm travelling - I take a memory stick with skype on it everywhere I go, so if the internet cafe I'm visiting doesn't have it installed I can still use it.

The calls are really cheap, and I only top up credit about twice a year, which gets me quite a few nice long international phone calls.

The quality isn't just good - it's often BETTER than a regular phone line if you have a decent headset

Skype is pretty good. Not only for the reason that it comes so cheap, but also because of the sound clarity. My vote goes to Skype.

Skype was my number one for voip calls, but recently Yahoo voice has slashed its rates to the cheapest on the market currently, even lesser than the current rates for Skype and Vonage etc..

Even I trust and use skype as they provide a decent sound clarity in cheap price and is most useful for ISD ie international calling.

I don't like skype because I have to make all my calls on the move and on mobile it takes lot of time.
