Demon.net
I just thought I would put in a good word for my supplier: demon.net

My current plan costs £24.99. I am pleased with their excellent service. Very reliable, only ever once had downtime. Fast, I could get up to 8mbps if I was close enough but distance from the exchange means I only get 1.5mbps.

I get 60gb bandwidth, and they only slow excess users down in peak periods rather than crucifying you constantly. I would certainly never switch, and am happy to recommend anyone to sign up with them.

I too must thank you for the information on this supplier. Peak periods for the ISP's are always something that you have to deal with. Any supplier can have this problem but everything else seems to be good.

Smaller suppliers appear to have more peak problems than bigger ones, but that is down to opinion.

I would think 60gb a month is the equivalent of unlimited for almost all but the heaviest users, 2gb a day is a lot.

Do you know how far from the exchange you actually are?

Yes 60gb is more thn enough as 2gb a day is huge data limit and all that is needed is good speed in peak or busy hours.

The speed is fine. The maximum I can get from my location is 3mbit, though I can't normally reach that. I've never experienced any slowdowns.

The net provider will give you a little device called a micro filter which allows you to use the telephone at the same time as the internet. So you don’t need a dedicated phone line for broadband.
