My wife's mother got a broadband from netgear router and using Warehouse as her provider , she said that its 16mb , the browsing speed is good but the downloading is terrible
It took her 15 min to download a song and the other day it took 4 hours to get 110mb PS3 upadte on my laptop

Maybe you should try and use a free download manager. If you go to Google and type free download manager, there is an excellent download manager called free download manager that utilises the most out of your connection and keeps downloads organised.

Cheers.

I don't think a download manager would make any difference there.

Has she always got bad download speeds, or is it just this particular download service that has problems? If she has bad download speeds from her ISPs web site (if they offer files) or from a site like download.com, then I think that she should contact her ISP to complain.

I do not think that a download manager will make any difference either. if it is the connection speed and the processor is slow then that is why it might be taking longer. People often forget that no matter how fast the connection is if the processor in the computer is bogged down then you will not be able to process as fast as you would like to.

Try closing any unnecessary programs running in the background before you try to download and see if that makes a difference.

There are several ways that you can make sure that your WIFI hot spot connection is safe for you. Do not be afraid to ask questions at a location and if they cannot answer your questions I would be less likely to use it.
