Connection problem
I am using an adsl package and my problem is that my modem has stopped working for the last one week. Surprisingly, when I tested it on the phone line of one of my friends, its works well. He used the settings (username and password) of his connection. But when I gave my connection settings to him, the modem does not seem to work.

Where is the problem actually? Is it in my phone line, or with my ISP?

Any help?

I would firstly contact your Internet Service Providors via email to see if they can encounter any problems with the service they are offering you.If not you may need to get BT to run some tests on your phone line.

It is simple that your settings on the line that your friend uses will not work. It seems your modem is ok. Did you the check wiring in your home? Have you checked whether the phone line works?

You did not mention what package you are using. Remember, ADSL modems and ADSL+2 modems will work only with their networks and can not be interchanged.

Gosh though if its problems with his wiring this could be quite an annoying job.Make sure you have no problems with your wires or anything first as this will be one of the worst jobs you have to go with stated by the above member.
