Cisco/Linksys Routers
Any one of you guys use the complex Cisco routers for your homes? Setting these things up can sometimes be hard because they are used by companies primarily. But for home owners, the Linksys brand. They are made by Cisco too, as far as I know, but they cater more to home networks.

Linksys are one of the easiest brands to be set up. I have 4 working for me at seperate levels and have never got any problems. To tell you frankly, I am not a tech geek and so consider it best to be able to set things up in a minute recipe.

Cisco/Linksys Routers
I don't personally own a Linksys router but I know many people who does and I'm sure all you have to do is read the instructions manual and you'll be fine from there. It should not be that hard to figure it out

Good luck!

If you need the easiest installation then use D-link as they are very easy to configure and are very intelligent routers.

Cisco equipment certainly seems to be the choice for large corporations set-ups, but hard to fully understand fopr sure.

I've looked at the courses the technicians have to do, and it's certainly not for IT newbies. The tech people who do do the work though seem to make good money.

I have used both brands over the years and find no problems with them, but I would have to say that unless you are experienced in setting up cisco equipment definately should be left up to larger companies.

Linksys is no more, Cisco are retiring the brand and will brand its home stuff Cisco.

A lot of people are thinking this a bad move, but I think the Cisco brand can stand up to it.

This surprises me, branding home equipment as Cisco would be a big risk I would of thought.

Home equipment, mass made must be much more poorly made than the Cisco industry used equipment.

Personally, seeing the Cisco name on equipment would give me confidence, but I know better, it's just a badge. The actual hardware wont be up to the standard of the true Cisco hardware made for big business.
