From woreless ethernet to usb modem
A friend ( yes really) has joined Talk TAlk recently but has had little or no success getting connected. He was supplied with a wireless router which after a lot of failures, when I tried to get it working his new wireless laptop (XP) reported a 'problem connecting to router')

I tried my old laptop (win2000) instead with usb wireless thingy and got the same response.

NOW. 1..were we being too ambitious (going wireless for a start with a router) although the same problem occurred when connecting the router by cable.

2. is talk talk any good ( their help is poor but their 'geek' people got it working for a short time at some expense).

3. I have an ex-orange speedtouch 330 usb modem that i used before I had a livebox. Might that work on his system to replace the router or is it 'orange specific'. His set up cd has the 330 as a 'supported ' item.

4. HELP

Best wishes, Ian

The best sloution to your problem is to contact the vendor of the router and get it replaced.

I agree the best thing to do is to contact the vendor, speak with them about the problem and see if they can work with you to get it working. If you still have a problem try another router and then move on from there.
