A lot of people have been victimized by phishers. It is the act of sending false emails from payment gateways or credit card companies. These emails are very urgent in nature, saying your account is hacked or something. Be wary of these as they are phony! If you get these mails, don't do what was instructed in the mail. Instead, talk to the credit card company personally and verify. Don't use any number you see on the email either - use the one you know for a fact is really theirs.

Yes but if you watch carefully then there is always a difference between original and phishing sites and you should always open the site manually and then login your details in sites of banks.

I have seen in newspapers and the most recommended action is to open the web browser and manually type in the site and then only give your username and password and never give your username and password on mails.
