External firewalls.
I need a physical firewall as I don't trust the software firewall available as there have been many breaches even when they exists.

I agree with you 100% its been tried and tested many times.
I use a belkin high speed router which has a firewall built in and I have 5 computers behind it and it works very well infact to the point where I,ve only had 2 Intrusions blocked on this machine over 6 months and I think my other machines are approx the same apart from my sons computer where he has had 100 Intrusions which is still not bad but he does not run Norton on that machine hense a few more hits as my other machines share the firewall between Norton and Zone Alarm.

Yes i have turned my firewall off completely and put the windows firewall to ill manage the firewall myself.To be honest there pointless and block things which are innapropriate and spoil your time online.Trust me if you have good anti-virus and spyware you should be okay.
