Yes even I keep back-ups of all my important data and with CDs it was a problem but with DVDs data backup is now very easy to take.

The best way is to get a large storage USB memory stick possibly about 5mb and backup all your my documents this includes music, photos etc.All the software you download from the internet make a note of it and if your computer crashes you can easily regain this.

i agree with the fact that its always good to have backup but its necessary to write on the top of the dvd or stick a label to indicate wat it contains.
because if we have many dvd s of same kind at the time of requirement it will be hard to figure out which one is the dvd of our concern.
