Firewalls
I am facing a problem in my office of receiving a large number of mails everyday and thus wasting a lot of time in checking junk mail. Somebody has suggested a firewall to me. what do you think?

A firewall will stop "unusual" or "unsafe" traffic to a system, spam isnt unusual its a mail message so as with any other mail messages they will fly through a firewall without a problem.

What you really want is either a spam firewall such as a Baracuda or decent spam filtering either on the desktop or before the mail gets delivered to you using a service such as MessageLabs or BlackSpider, both do a great job of cleaning your mail before it gets near your mailbox.

Yes there are applications like spam-guard which you can use to get rid of all the junk mails you get.

Firewall is meant to protect your PC from intruders. Your Windows firewall or other firewalls can efficiently do it.

To stop receiving junk mails, you need a good spam filter which most UK broadband providers offer with their packages.

Read broadband reviews featured in this site to find out who offer the best spam filters. They provide complete details of a broadband package that include security features that come with it.

I think you need to download a sort of anti-spyware free program im sure there are alot if you look around. Some can be fixed onto your email software and block all spam and automatically report to the spam protection service.
