Netscape Navigator to be stopped soon
Netscape Navigator was the first internet browser which had been used by more than 90 per cent of internet users in nineteen nineties. However, Microsoft IE and Mozilla Firefox have almost replaced this one time favourite internet browser during the last few years. Currently, less than one percent of surfers use Netscape Navigator.

AOL which owns Netscape has announced recently, that it's going to stop supporting it and the Netscape Navigator 9 will be the last version and there will no more updates in future.

After February 1, Netscape users will not get updated security features as well.

I still use Netscape Navigator. I am wondering why so many people deserted this internet browser which was enjoying huge popularity in nineties. When it was unveiled, it came as freeware and it was the time when internet was just at its infancy and everybody liked Netscape because it was different from Microsoft IE in terms of outlook etc.

I am still using Netscape, though, occasionally. However, Firefox is much better than both IE and Netscape. Netscape users will continue to diminish due to this development.
