Google Earth on my PC
I have a 8MB connection and connected two PCs in my home. My eight year old son is nudging me to install Google Earth in both the PCs as he has seen that application running in his school.

Still not decided whether to concede his request, as I think it will slow down my connection. As a matter of fact, I dont get more than 250 mb download speed.

Anyone can offer useful tips?
Thanks.

Well it might help him with his studies and get him used to the world map and different countries.I mean to fully download Google Earth i think it only takes up about 12.7 MB which is fairly good to say its an immense program.

No, we are not talking about disk space.

Using Google Earth will need enormous cache memory. I hope your PC has a faster processor (minimum 2.4 GHZ) and good RAM (minimum 1 GB).

I think your connection speed (8Mb) is fine for viewing close-up maps. If your system slows down, use some speed test to find the actual speed you are getting.
