How to check line quality?
Is there any way to know the quality of line and the signal strength I am getting? As I know the maximum speed that I can get also depends upon the line quality, I can check whether my speeds match with the line quality and signal strength.

I am presently using Linksys Etherfast BEFSR41 DSL modem.

Quite simple!
Your modem can provide you this information. Since your are using Linksys Etherfast BEFSR41 DSL modem, its web interface will have line attenuation information.

Attenuation is an important factor that decides signal strength and speed of data transfer on a phone line. It indicates how much signal strength is lost with relation to distance. So it is usually measured in dB/cm, dB/km. dB means decibles. It is usually dependent on the distance as well as the medium through which data passes.

Low attenuation means greater signal strength. When the attenuation on a line is high, it means you will get slow speed.
