FTTH is fibre based broadband available in countries like Japan. Theoretically it can deliver speed up to 1 Gbps, although most people can get 100 Mbps or so.
VDSL2 is an advanced DSL technology which is mostly used to deliver triple play services or HDTV broadcast. The drawback of VDSL2 is that it loses speed drastically with distance.
Fibre based broadband (FTTN) offers the best speed on the globe. Recent OECD survey shows Japan gets more than 90 Mbps speed while France is the second nation to get faster speeds (above 50 Mbps). Both the countries use FTTN technology.
