Maximum speed in home connection.
What is the maximum speed given in home connection with unlimited access around the globe. I have heard maximum upto 24 mbps in USA. Has someone heard more than this.

This is ADSL2, some companies here in the UK even offer it now, with a 2mb Upload speed as well.

France has this speed available nation wide I believe and S.Korea has more broadband per capita than any where else on the planet.

Don't know about in the US, but the normal maximum for here in the UK is 8mb download speed ADSL1.

Presently countries like Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Sweden, Denmark and Italy offer high speed broadband (100 Mbps) using fibre optic networks (FTTH or fiber-to-the-home networks).

However, the FTTH penetration has not speeded up in the USA as well as in most of the European countries including UK.

ADSL2 is slowly being adopted over here. My cable connection goes up to 20Mb/s. The thing is truly uncapped connections of any speed seem rare over here - the majority of ISPs either limit download speed once you have downloaded a certain amount, or otherwise restrict your connection

Think the record is currently 40GB, although its more a publicity stunt as the woman has around £1/2 million worth of IT gear in her basement.

Saying that though you can pretty much get any speed you are willing to pay for, there is nothing stopping a home getting a 100Mbit leased line it will just cost a small fortune.

Speed is just a question of money. How fast do you want to go?
