Demon is excellent. They are always helpful. We once messed up our router config at our end, meaning our internet didn't work, and they rebooted their equipement at their end in order to fix it. To me, that's what I call good customer service.

I made a call to Aol a few week ago for a friend who had a faulty modem.

They wouldn't listen to me at all, they told me to reboot the computer and try connect again (because we never thought of that... yeah right), failing that I should wait 5 minutes, reboot and try connect again and it will "deffinately" work. The technician didn't have a clue and didn't stay on the line to see if his theory worked.

I have had to call Tesco broadband up a few times in the past and they have always been really helpful.

I think ISPs in UK are still in their infancy as far as customer service is concerned. Needs to improve a lot.

Ok we have a vote for Demon . As for the rest they need work . Mostly what I have seen is that they have not been helpfully .
The other side is ,is it difficult for a normal person to know all the tech stuff! if we try and understand what the person who is only looking for a three month job is going through .

I would say that UK Online provides best customer service as its telephone support is UK based. Madasafish is another ISP who is well-known for excellent customer support. Most ISPs offer 24/7 online support and you can send emails carrying your grievances. I don't know how many of us get quick response for such mails and get our problems resolved.

It is better to call the help desk and again only a few ISPs offer free customer support on telephone meaning you need to pay for making calls to the customer support of your ISP.
