Have BT a service?

I have a BT service (has run for several years) but BT say they can’t find any trace of it on my number. They are managing to extract their large monthly direct debit of £26.98 and I could just cancel that, but I know how nasty BT can be and its not worth the hassle.

I have my own wired router and own email service. What I want is a reasonable 8meg service where I don’t have to pay for a phone line I hardly use and ideally a mobile service or one I can use at a second location (AB45 3JQ line in house not active) I am at 20 days of the year.

Any ideas or recommendations?

I think to increase customers and to stay in competition BT is taking few steps to offer free connection to customers. Does not mean that if they give free offers as such we should opt for it.
