BT spokesman confirms that no-one will get 8Mbps

"Virtually no-one will get it. The laws of physics start applying as soon as it leaves the exchange and you would have to live on top of the exchange to get the full 8 megabits," A BT spokesman tell BBC

BT is trying to upgrade its speed to 24Mbps , all I want to know is when will be get 8Mbps

If they quote a speed, and you arent on top of the exchange, youll never get it. The advertising rules say they only have to quote what is "Possible", not "Likely"
Stupid Advertising rules, they should give an average speed, not possible speed.

People think that slow speeds are only caused by the service when in fact there are many variables in the equation that are factored in. This also includes your own computer. This is why you never get the speeds they say are possible. I fully understand why they want to advertise that way, would you likely want to be part of something that showed how slow it really was.

I live directly opposite an exchange and get 8.5mb but sometimes it is a bit erratic.

Wow you are some of the few people that are getting the speed that they paid for any way survey done only 39 per cent of the people get the speeds that they have asked for and you are one for them .
