Maximum speed from BT

Can BT give me MAximum speed instead of setting IP profiles at every 500kbps ?
They are giving us true speed at 2Mbps but what about the other 400bps that a line is capable of ?

I do not think they can because there are many variables that have to be looked at and some are not in their control. I would say if you are getting even relatively close to what they say their max is then you are getting the best you can for the combination of variables involved.

Should they not try andgive us the best that they can give ? They have a lot of space to give us more Mbps , should give it to us ? if it is there .
