Someone gave me these tips to increase the bandwidth of my broadband. I found it works better than I expected. Try this and share your experiences with me

Just log on as ‘administrator’
Execute this command: Start-> Run->type gpedit.msc
Expand the "Local Computer Policy" branch.
Also expand the "Administrative Templates" branch.
Next, expand the "Network Branch".
Also highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler"
You need to double-click the "Limit Reservable Bandwidth" setting in right window.
Check the "Enabled" item on setting tab.
Replace ‘Bandwidth limit %" with 0.
You’d better reboot your system after making these changes.

This is not practical for all times and customers, but if you have a really heavy download then schedule it away from the 7PM - 9PM window. It still makes a difference, although I have been told that it should not.

There is no way to get more speed if you are getting less speed from your service provider. And its always how efficiently you use your network. Like you can always use more downloads simultaneously.

The best way I find is to use two simultaneous connections from different ISP and if even one is not giving the good speed atleast other will.

This is an very effective method that i have picked up that i recommend to try and improve your overall net speed.

Go to Start-> Run-> and type gpedit.msc
Expand the Administrative Templates branch
Expand the Network tab
Highlight QoS Packet Scheduler
Click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth and check the ‘enabled’ box
Then Change the Bandwidth limit % to 0 %

Unless you are far away from exchange, there are chances that your current speed can be boosted using the tips provided in this article:
http://www.broadbandsuppliers.co.uk/...peed-tips.html

It is also a good idea to ask the ISP to give right information on actual speeds you are likely to get, before you sign up to a package. It is a common problem that the speeds they advertise rarely come near to the actual speeds that one receives.

I am really vexed with the fluctuations in the speed that I get. Sometimes during the day I get higher speeds while other times I don't get even half of that. I complained it to my ISP. They say I am 2.5 kms from the exchange. Although it is not too far, still I don't get the desired speed while my neighbour get more than twice my speed. I checked the line and also made sure that nothing is wrong within my home. Any suggestion?
