Limewire.
Whenever I use limewire it shows more speed as compared to when I download through FTP or HTTP. What could be the problem? What protocols limewire use for data transfer.

When you use something like Limewire or BitTorrent you are downloading from multiple sources at once so the only single limitation is your line. When downloading from an FTP or HTTP site your limited by the bandwidth at the senders and and the recieving bandwidth at your end.

It all depends on the speed of the seeder who is giving the speed.

I would not recommend using limewire you all know its illegal, its just be careful don't want you getting fined.

I must admit though its excellent, and i agree it does show alot of speed its very efficient.Thanks Jennip for explaning.
