2mb connection
I have a 2mb connection but when I download I get like 75kb a second should I not be getting alot more than that?

Yes you should be getting not less than 1500 kb/s so its time to sue your internet service provider.

75kb is less than 1mb. It depends on how far you are from the exchange. Most companies offer up to 2mb. This mean at best you get 2mb, but should you be further away, you will get less.

Also does this happen on all downloads? Some server only allow 'slow' speeds. Try starting a trial download of a program from adobe.com, there servers are fast.

And for real measures you can alwats check from
SpeedGate Communications: Your Gateway to the Internet
which will tell you your exact speed.

You can also install dumeter and check your speed on
Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
as it will tell you exactly whats your soeed.

Call you ISP and get your line checked as the line from your place to exchange must be having some problems.

If you are paying to you internet service provider for a high speed and getting as low as 75kbs then you should consult with them regarding the problem

Complain to the trading standards and your internet server providor good luck i hope you succeed in taking action against your ISP.This is awfull service i hope you get a good result.
