What is the download cap of Tiscali's business packages?
Recently I was browsing through Tiscali website to know their business packages. They offer two business packages - Business 2000 and Business MAX Unlimited.

It is really pity that we have to assume their Business MAX Unlimited package offers unlimited downloads because the word 'unlimited' is there. But both the packages did not clearly mention whether they are unlimited or any 'monthly usage cap' in them.

Can anyone clarify my doubts?

Unlimited is rarely unlimited. They will almost all have a "fair use" policy. I actually work for a tiscali reseller so I'll try and find out what the fair use policy is since it doesnt seem to appear on their website.

I have the Unlimited Tiscali package and it is unlimited OUTSIDE of peak hours (6pm-12pm).

Outside of this 6 hour period I download a lot and have had no complaints from them, but if you download a lot during these hours they bump you onto a heavy users connection which is very bad. Even watching YouTube vid's for this 6 hour period will get you flagged.

Keep your downloads down during this time and they are fine.

The technical support is quite bad though, business packages come with PHP/MySQL support but when I didn't find this out myself and rang for the info (India) they had no idea what is was.

Note, if you do get bumped to the heavy users connection, they allow you to leave before the end of your contract with no penalties. Always an option if you want to get out of it, hehe.

No, no kidding. They emailed me saying that I could leave without finishing the contract. I was surprised also.

When they shaped my traffic on the heavy users connection, I could also bypass this shaping by encrypting my traffic, so should they decide not to make the offer, I could still steal all the bandwidth and they would make the offer again fast I would think.
