Newbie seeks advice
Hi folks....looking for some advice...my situation is this

I used to have a BT line but had it disconnected, now I want to reconnect for broadband.....

should I go for an all in deal with phone, line rental and broadband or reconnect through BT and go for a broadband only deal....

there is so much to choose from.....so any advice would be welcome

If you live in a cable area and want an all in one deal, have a look at the virgin media offers where you can get about 4 services (broadband, phone, TV, mobile etc) from £40 per month. Or 2 services from £25. Virgin also give more discounts if you sign up online.

In a way you are fortunate that you have more flexibilily to get cable or ADSL via a BT line.

If you are not able to get cable you are going to need a BT line anyway to connect to any ADSL broadband service. Most providers will only connect you if you have a BT number to hand when you order.

Hope this helps.

I would suggest you to for the deal with phone only. Gives you much less headache.

There are ISP's which offer the line rental with the broadband now. Tiscali I know is now, and also Talk Talk I believe, and it works out much cheaper than getting the line from BT aswell.

This is what I will do next time, I'm not a big fan of BT, but my suggestion in unbiased.

I use BT, and have never had any problems with them. They own the lines, so unlike other companies, you can be sure that they will get any solid repairs done in the least time physically possible, i think.
I would go with BT, like i am, as they have great prices, and everything is reliable.

I have not heard much about having problems either. I think that sometimes that people blame the ISP when it is fault in their own systems. This is not say that the ISP never has faults, I just can only state from my own experiences.

I think there are no serious problems with any of the connection from BT so go according to your needs and my advice is to go for a deal with phone.
