Anyone on FTTH ?

I have read a bit about FTTH/FTTP (Fiber to the home/premises) connection.It's basically fiber connection leaving an end office or an exchange and connecting directly to the home or premise without any DSL or LAN connection in between.I know that it's faster than the DSL and also costs more.Does anyone know what kind of internet speed can we expect with FTTH ?

I have never come across such connections but yes according to me these connections can give any speed and would be quite expensive especially there installation.
