Download Limits

My current package has no limits on downloading, either that or I am getting nowhere near the limit. I am looking at other deals that do - and I was wondering is there any way to visualise what a download limit will mean?

I do not play games on the internet, but listen to quite a bit of radio and a small amount of video.

Songs and videos use up the MBs pretty quickly,especially the videos.If you watch videos like the ones on youtube and not movies ,then you won't run into the gigabytes.The normal internet surfing doesn't consume too much downloading.I was previously on unlimited downloads ,but that limited my connection speed.Now I have a higher connection speed ,but limited by a download volume unless I pay more for the extra downloads.

A download limit will mean nothing for the purposes of normal web browsing, so most people will be getting nowhere near the limit. It's only those who do a lot of movie downloading or loads and loads and loads and loads of music downloading who will have a problem .

Thank you Hazel. That was what I thought. However I am starting to listen to quite a lot of internet radio these days, so my download limit could increase - or am I wrong on that?

If you listed to a lot of internet radio, and I mean a lot, then you should still be fine. It does, of course, depend on what your download limit is.

Well I am listening to "a lot" but not "I mean a lot". I'm listening to about an hour of radio a night. I suppose I should simply not start to watch Internet TV, or at least watch it a lot.

If you use audio or video streaming then don't go for a limited ones as audio and videos literally eat MBs. So go for unlimited and use limited only in case you just want to check mails.

Thanks for the tip. Audio streaming does seem to take up quite a bit of bandwidth, but it is nothing compared to video streaming. I think I prefer the certainty of limits rather than the rug pulling that unlimited deals tend to present.
