Non Direct Debit?
Can anyone recommend a broadband provider that is friendly towards customers who don't pay by Direct Debit?

I can't set up a Direct Debit at the moment, and I'm forced to pay an extra few pounds a month to Virgin for 'processing fees'. That alone isn't enough to make me consider moving, but I'm having some other issues with Virgin, and if I did move, an ISP that didn't charge you for paying by debit card or over the counter would be much preferable.

Talk Talk want a direct debit setup at first, but if you cancel it after connection, they just bill you via the post.

I hate direct debits, bank charges and cost me a good 6 months broadband payments.

I have to agree that they really need to do something different and give people the option of how they pay. I am not sure who has that type of setup, but would recommend that people call around.

Look at it from their point of view though, they provide you a service, and then if you dont pay, they dont get their money. Therefore, they lose out. Disconnecting takes time, and its fair for them to get what they request for your internet, isnt it?

Zen will allow you to pay monthly. In fact they are always chasing me for paying later than I should! They are a bit more costly though.
