Connecting laptop to desktop wirelessly
Hi everyone!

I want to connect my desktop to laptop wireless. My desktop runs Windows XP and is connected to ADSL modem.

Can someone help me to set up both my desktop and laptop so that I can get broadband access on my laptop.

Thanks. (Sorry, I could not give much details which I should, as I am novice to all these things).

The fact is that there is not so much difficulty to connect your laptop to desktop as sharing a broadband connection between two. Here is what you should do to enable your devices share the internet connection:

Check to see that both your laptop and desktop get their IP addresses from your ADSL modem.

Start command prompt i.e., use the run command on windows desktop and type cmd and press enter. Type ipconfig/all. You should get ping IP of each device and if there is any problem, just turn off the firewall for a moment.

Also make sure that file sharing is enabled (you can do it by running networking wizard). This will also create a directory to share the files.

Hope this helps.
