Changing telephone exchanges ???
Here's an interesting one for you all !!!

We have been told we are too far away from our exchange to receive Broadband. We are out in the country but not that remote!!! However, when I checked the locations of exchanges using samknows, there are two other exchanges closer to us than the one that we are actually connected to ! How frustrating is that!! I have asked BT to try and do a line test from one of the closer exchanges but no one at BT seems to know what I am talking about and I never can talk to anyone who can help me ! They would need to lay some new copper cables in the other direction to link us up but we have offered to help towards the cost.....

Any good ideas ? There are other houses near us who would also benefit from changing exchanges we think. Otherwise its dial up or satellite.....

Thanks!

Jay

I would send them a strong complaint letter getting straight to the complaint and brief of your problems.

Address it 'FAO BT Management' see if you get any joy with that you have got to try and persuade BT about these closer exchanges with relevant evidence.
