You may be able to use WiFi however it does depend on the availablity of hotspots which on arent easy to find, even if you do find one you will almost certainly have to pay, not sure about France but in the UK some places charge £5 an hour although the £10 a day is more reasonable.

Not sure how you think a TV signal digital or other wise will be helpful for anything other than watching TV, but if you have a TV tuner card (Analog and Digital) you should be able to watch TV on your laptop.

As for internet you then go to most people's backup which is GPRS via their phone which tends to be very expensive and not very fast, although most people if they want cheaper phone calls buy an international calling Sim or buy a sim for a local phone company, not no idea if they have data on them as well.

Wi-Fi is becoming available just about anywhere you go these days. The key is to find hot spots which will allow you access. You can often find them before you plan your trip by doing a search for wireless hot spots in ? the location.

You can call up your ISP and ask whether you will get the service there or not and what all you'll have to do to have service.

If you have a good card that picks up signals of about 400 feet then you need to try to find WIFI access close to where you are going to be and then use it when you need it. Otherwise a mobile might be the answer you are looking for.

You can look for wifi and you can also use other facilities like 3G for data transfer.

Yeah however, the only problem would be how are you going to get connectivity for your laptop.Just plan your journey first and see were your local hotspots are and how much they are going to charge.Try and read reviews on the hotspots to see if they was any good you want a nice fast connection.

ISPs like Orange and BT offer global wifi vouchers which you can use in other countries too. They will be valid for a week or a month from the date it is activated. Buying vouchers instead of subscribing to wifi service is economical so you can try it.
