Information on cable broadband access

This is a persistent problem that is nagging my friend for awhile. His phone lines are so bad that ADSL often gets disconnected or becomes unusable at times.

I would suggest cable broadband for him, but where can we find all details on cable broadband, speeds and service quality, available packages etc.

Please help.

Even cable lines have such disconnection problems at times. Virgin's services too failed a couple of times during outage. Better read more about advantages and disadvantages of ADSL against cable broadband.
