Does ADSL+2 have better distance limit?
I am not sure whether I live within the maximum distance of ADSL, which they say 5 kms from the exchange. When I contacted one provider, I was told I am 9.5 kms from the exchange but still can access ADSL. Now, I suspect he is referring to ADSL+2 not ADSL.

My questions are
  • Does ADSL+2 have better coverage than ADSL?
  • What is the distance limit of ADSL?

Presently, I am a dial-up user.

ADSL+2 runs alot faster and further than the standard ADSL.It is the next generation of ADSL.The distance limit for ADSL has been increased from 5.5km to 6km.I hope this helps you and i hope you manage to find a suitable upgrade from dial up.

Adsl +2 can double the speed that adsl 2 can offer which means it can offer 24 Mbps. On downside, ADSL +2 also shed speed after 2 kms where it gives peak speeds.
Read this article which throws a plenty of light on this topic:

Since, UK currently depends on copper wires and cable for broadband connectivity, it is great to see broadband providers like BT come with plans to upgrade their network to offer better service and speed.

BT's 21CN has been on test as Entanet announced its distribution to its partner channels last week. One can say, reliable 24Mb broadband can meet the requirements of most UK broadband users.
