What is causing pocket loss?
I don't know what is causing more than 60 percent pocket loss in my PC. What do you think can cause it to my connection?

I have connected three PCs using a wired network setup. Still undecided over what to do? As this problem could be the result of faulty network or the hardware used to connect to internet,so I haven't complained to my ISP.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

thanks.

Heya,

I would honestly firstly contact your internet server providor to see if they have any problems and ask them for any suggestions. If not i would try getting new hardware as then you know there is a problem with this.

Does pocket loss happen to only one PC or all three PCs? In first case, the problem of pocket loss has nothing to do with your intenet connection or your ISP. On the other hand if all your PCs show pocket loss, the best solution to the problem is to report it to your PC.

However, if you find pocket loss in one or two PCs but not all PCs on the network, it could be the result of
  • some spyware or virus
  • improper wiring between PCs and router
  • incompatible NIC drivers that come with your routers.
  • faulty interface of networking hardware like router or switch.
  • faulty network card.

Try following things:
  • Use some antispyware or anti virus to remove malware, virues etc.
  • Install new, upgraded version of NIC drivers.
  • If NIC is found faulty, change it.
  • Use right type of interface of router or switch.

If you find pocket loss is a issue concerned with all PCs, ask for help from your ISP.

Yes, it was a problem with one of the client PCs. I tried everything you have suggested. After rebooting of the network hardware, happily, the problem was fixed up.

Thanks for your help.
