What is getting downloaded?
I am recently facing this problem.

Whenever I am online, I see that data is continuously passing through my connection, both in and out, although I do not download anything. When I download a file of 5 Mb, it shows me that more than 10 Mb has been downloaded. What is going on through my connection? It worries me because I have got just 2 GB monthly download limit.

Thanks.

Heya,

You may need to contact your internet server providor via email to see if there having any technical problems, i can't say there is a straight forward solution to this. They should be able to assist you with this.

Possibly, some updates are going on. Check whether any anti-virus software or windows update is not on.
If you have this problem for not these reasons, maybe, your system is infected with spyware. Use some anti-spyware to remove it or contact your adminstrator or vendor to fix up this problem immediately.

Normally if something was downloading onto your computer a pop up box would be displayed. This makes me suspicious that its some kind of virus. Please download AVG anti-virus and AVG anti-spyware this should solve the trick.Good luck i know how stressfull computers can get when there not running.

Hi, guys. Thanks for your advice. They really worked for me. Ofcourse, I had to call someone from my hardware dealer to fix the problem. He told me it was some program which stealthily got into my PC from internet was doing everything.

Later, I remembered that I downloaded some utility software from a dubious site. May be, the spyware came with the downloaded software.

Once I had this kind of problem and I ultimately ended up with formatting the hard disk of my PC. Till then, I am very watchful over the sites that offer free downloads.
