Connection only works while calling

My internet connection keeps dropping and the only way to get it back up is to make a call to a free number and this will keep the web connected. If anyone can diagnose the problem?

You have to call your ISP as there is some problem from his end only because your hardware and software settings are correct.

This is good sound advice which is very accurate. If you are able to connect by using phone then it shows there is no problem on your end. But what are the circumstances behind the drop. Are you trying to stay connected all the time. Because many services will setup the service to drop the connection if left idol for a certain period of time.
