ADSL modem and USB modem
Which is better? ADSL modem or USB modem? Someone said USB modems have connectivity problems and you get disconnected quite often.

The two terms mean completely different things.

ADSL is the technology used to transmit high speed data via a phone connection.
USB is a technology that connects peripherals to a PC.

An ADSL modem/router can connect to a PC in two ways, one via USB or via Ethernet (network) cable.

Personally if I had a choice I would always go for an Ethernet based ADSL modem as its easier to share the internet connection than it is via a USB modem.

However if you will only have one PC connected to the internet there is no real difference. However USB connected modems do tend to be the lower end of the market which could explain the possible connection issues.

Do not connect your adsl router with your computer through usb as there are certain interrupts from processor which will suspend your internet connection through USB.

Complete rubbish niki, can you back that up?

Connecting via USB is reliable hell did is my self 24/7 for over a year with absolutely no issues at all, I also work at an ISP and we as standard supply USB modems trust me if they gave 1 support call due to this kind of thing we wouldnt supply them.

Connection by USB is always better than the other options as it is user friendly and we have to face minimal problems while working with it.

If its a standard USB modem it will work fine and if its a wlan modem with lan, wlan and usb ports then it will give problems. Even I faced problems.
