Connecting To Sky Broadband Trouble

Having an nightmare trying to get connected to sky broadband.

I have a Dell computer that was only dial up on Supanet and so there was no need for any MAC number. I received a modem from Sky and all connections which I attached to the computer and got all green lights coming on the modem including internet connection light.
Then I installed software but disc said it was unable to get an internet connection.

I have checked all connections /made sure do not use dial up/ stopped my Mcafee protection which I already had on the computer/etc. I have been speaking to Sky for a number of hours and they even sent me a another modem but it still will not connect me to the internet.

I can still get a connection through Supanet on dial up but can anyone be kind enough to help me in this matter. No one else appears to have this problem as I have read all forums I could find.

There can be some problem with your windows so try repairing or reinstalling your windows and you can also contact dell to slove this problem.
