Go slow
My router was working fine up until the other day and now I'm getting a lot of activity on th elights on front even when I'm not surfing, any ideas?

Have you done the standard things like anti virus scan, spyware scan etc?

Traffic could also being generated by things like Windows Update downloading patches, if you have Wireless may be worth checking no-one else has connected to your access point.

Do you still have the same problem ? what JenniP is saying is true also that the windows updates could be also downloading . Let us know if it is working fine

CTRL+ALT+DEL to activate Task Manager and se what programs are running. Also run HijackThis and post the log it gives. We can have a look for anything unusual.

Run a virus scan as there is some malicious activity going on and this is not safe at all so take back up of your important data and run scan.

Firstly it can be a problem of the virus so for this you have to use a good anti virus system and secondly change the settings

Just perform a virus scan by some powerful anti-virus like norton and update it before scan. There is some virus on your network that sending the packets.
