MAC Codes
Hi everyone, I have a question which I have asked friends who can’t seem to answer it and hope someone on here can.

A few years ago I switched broadband providers and was given a MAC code. I believe MAC code was only valid for a certain time period (though do correct me if I am wrong about this).

I am thinking of cancelling my current broadband but do not want to take up another offer from another provider for the foreseeable future.

So if I cancel my broadband now and take up broadband again in say a year’s time:

1. Will I need to supply a MAC code to my new supplier when I take it up in a year’s time?
2. If so do I get the MAC code now when I cancel my internet or would I contact the supplier I was with when I need the MAC code?
3. If I get my MAC code now will it still be valid for an unlimited period if I do not want broadband again for the foreseeable future?

Any help on these questions would be most appreciated

MAC Code
Hi,

MAC Code is used to Switch Broadband providers, once MAC Code is generated it expires in 30 days. As per your query, it states that you require a new broadband connection after an year. In this case, you no need to apply for MAC Code. You can directly cancel the service from current provider. You can take a new connection when you are interested.

Mac Codes
Ya...Its correct even I followed the same steps and got the Mac code from my provider, also they informed me its is valid only for 30days. So, now I have switched my broadband service with the help of the Mac code without any interrupt in the connection.
