Wow, nice thought but I'd dread running my own ISP. All the calls you would get with people having simple problems like 'my intrynites are slow' or 'I have a virus on my screen, what should i do?' and heaven knows what else would drive me insane.

What are your areas of expertise? Web Hosting reselling is quite popular, but I'm sure all areas bring there own range of problems.

Well the company I work for does, web hosting, email hosting, ADSL, Dial up, dedicated servers if its internet related we will normally do it.

And yes you do get those exact type of support calls not that I deal with support calls luckly :-)

Can I ask what kind of area you do work in ? Sound interesting.

I'm starting a Degree at University this September in Software Engineering. I want to get to the stage of being able to create my own Dynamic Sites for whatever I want to create, and then sell the scripts made to the general public.

The ability to do this type of work from anywhere in the world is appealing. Being able to travel around as I want, but still drag a decent income would be cool.

I'm down in the sunny (or should that be soggy) South Coast between Portsmouth and Southampton if you were meaning location.

If you were meaning employement then I'm the development manager for the company which basically means I'm responsible for the development team and even still find time to do the odd bit of coding too :-)

Nice , what language(s) do you use? I'm just starting to learn PHP, just creating my first database driven site. very simple, but having to learn it all from books is my only way of learning right now.

I'm going for PHP/MySQL/Apache as it seems to have the biggest market share, so when I do get to a decent level, I'll have the biggest market to sell to.

Don't try this as this needs a hell of investment and the margins are not good and also people will sue you if you don't provide the good service. And if possible target an area where internet penetration is less.
