Have you checked all your micro filters? Ensured that every socket with a non-ADSL device plugged in is connected to a micro filter.

Failing that may be worth giving BT a ring to check your line.

I would recommend that you also check your filters to ensure they are working properly. If not then you will hear that noise as it is normal. But you need to have the filter to make phone calls.

You can try changing your splitter and see if this works else contact your ISP.

Is you phone plugged into a splitter if so it might be the splitter. if you want to rule out the phone, can you plug it into the router or broadband modem if so then try that.

That happened to us, call the ISP and get them to sort it out. If you didnt cause it, its not your fault, and they are liable to repair it. Give them a ring, and tell them what has happened. Then tell them that you need their advice to sort it out, and they should take you through the steps of sorting it out.

And do get it fixed as soon as possible as this will reduce your bandwidth/speed to a considerable extent.
