Sky is set to offer new phone lines

Skyuser.co.uk reports that Sky will offer new phone connection for £124.99 and the line rental will be much cheaper ( 50p - £1.75). There will be 12 month contract. Below is the list of ISPs and their tariff:

BT: £124.99 for new connection, 12 month contract, £3.45 a month extra for basic call plan.

PlusNet: £105 for a new connection and line rental is £9.99. You also get free evening and weekend calls.

Madasafish: £115 for connection. one month contract. £9.99 line rental.

I would like to know about the current long term plans in the UK broadband market. Could anyone provide right information and also suggest the best ISP?
