BT Total grew by 2 percent
BT has still been on the top as far as the number of broadband connections in UK is concerned. Virgin Media, which has outnumbered BT in terms of penetration of UK households, is the second largest broadband provider.

Recent Ofcom's Telecommunications Market Report for the second quarter of 2007 shows that UK has nearly 15 million broadband connections and BT has a market share of 27.6 percent (up by 2 % in one year).

BT has been slow in their deployment of 21CN network across UK. I don't know how BT customers could get reliable connection on the existing copper lines. I would rather prefer AOL or Be who provide higher speeds and more reliable connections as they use LLu lines.
