Do not be excited yet, as it is likely to be late 2010 before most of the UK gets it, but it is an exciting plan by BT. Details here BT's 21st century network

Their 21st century network project is aimed to make broadband connections faster,

As part of this £10 billion project, BT are going to be replacing their antique copper cabling in many areas to fibre optic cables!

This means, faster downloads, internet television, up to 100 Mbps connections.. (Wow - where do I sign?)

I was reading another thread on how in Japan this is available, and the Upload speed and the same as the Download speed!

Can't wait for this, running my server from home would be great, and a big chunk of hosting companies business may be lost to this, especially co-locating companies, they would be finished fast I bet.
