Pipex being sold?
There will be a major change waiting for Pipex customers and Pipex staff. Tiscali, a UK broadband provider is set to reach a deal with Pipex for buying its broadband services along with its voice customer base for £210million.

Pipex is reported to have 570,000 by the end of 2006 and owns other broadband providers that include Nildram, Bulldog and Freedom2Surf which Pipex has acquired to consolidate its position as ISP in UK.

Along with its home broadband services, Pipex also offers hosting services and business broadband services.

Although I am not a Pipex customer, I would like to know the reaction of some Pipex customers with regard to Pipex's proposed sale out.

I used to be a Pipex customer before I moved house, I did look into getting Pipex again as I was fairly happy with their service but I had heard the Tiscali rumours and I wouldnt want to go anywhere near a Tiscali service, if I did I could get it much cheaper from work.

If I hadnt of moved I would of stayed with Pipex as I was out of contract, but with the 12-18 month contracts it put me right off going to them in my new house just incase.

Ok I know people with Tiscali who dont have problems but they are one of the worst rated ISPs in most customer surveys I've seen (But then again so are Pipex).

The strange thing about this acquisition is that Pipex is ranked fifth for customer base while Tiscali ranked seventh.

Read the comment of Turner, the CEO of Tiscali which goes on like this: "We will be able to offer our new Pipex customers the full range of Tiscali's... services including broadband, telephone and TV,"

Will Pipex customers like this deal? I don't know much about Tiscali's services. Any Tisclai customer tell us about its service quality?
