Why there is so much difference in speeds?
I am a Be customer and presently using their Be Box modem to go wireless. I was told that I am 2.5 Kms from the exchange.

My problem is my download speed is fairly low. Despite the connection speed being 24 Mb, I am getting just below 250 Kbps when I am wirelessly connected although I get up to 14 Mbps when I am on wired connection. Are my speeds are reasonable taking the distance I am from exchange into account?

Why there is so much difference between a wired and wireless internet access?
Thanks
