You would need to pay off the remainder of the contract.

IE If you are contracted for 2 years @ £15 per month and you want to leave at the end of Year 1 you would need to pay £180 (£15*12 months) to get out of the contract.

Failure to do this and say you just cancel the direct debit, will end up the company more than likely taking you to court and getting a CCJ against you thus screwing up your credit record.

If you were moving and you cant migrate the contract (Which is often the case) they may take a different view, but it would still be a hefty amount to pay back.

The idea will be to migrate the contract to the new address. rather than cancel it. Would that be possible?
